Bantu Holomisa, leader of the
United Democratic Movement (UDM), says the party has decided not to take part in
this afternoon's "cover-up" of the arms deal report.
The report of the investigation into the multi-million rand arms deal probe, was
conducted by Selby Baqwa, the Public Protector, Shauket Fakie, the Auditor
General, and Bulelani Ngcuka, the National Director of Public Prosecutions, is
being released in Parliament.
Holomisa says this is a stage-managed public relations exercise, "where no
questions will be allowed".
"It can serve no purpose other than the investigation team speaking on
behalf of government to a report which has been tampered with by the
executive... the UDM caucus has decided that it will not participate in this
afternoon's cover-up."
However, the party would still participate in the parliamentary committees
dealing with the report, Holomisa said.
