The Heath special investigating unit (SIU) has handed over the "De Lille dossier" detailing alleged corruption in the government's multi-billion rand arms deal to the investigating directorate of serious economic offences (Idseo) - but not before some sources had withdrawn the information they contributed to the dossier.
This revelation was made by Pan Africanist Congress MP Patricia de Lille on Tuesday night. Addressing the Johannesburg Press Club, De Lille said that a member of the SIU had flown from East London to Pretoria on Tuesday to hand the dossier over to Idseo, which falls under the national directorate of public prosecutions.
Responding to a question from WOZA, De Lille said
that some of the sources of the information contained in the dossier had given
the Heath unit permission to hand over their testimony, but that some had not,
and had in fact "taken back their information" from the unit.
