Parliament
- PAC MP Patricia de Lille is excited about her leading role in a new game
created by controversial student website gAL.co.za.
"Politics is sometimes much too
serious," says De Lille, "when you bring it to the lighter side, it's
much easier to grasp."
Called PAC Man, the game is an adaptation of the
cult 1980s arcade game PACman. De Lille stars as PAC Man - a pixelated
trailblazer, on a mission to uncover the truth. Her path is fraught with
obstacles: Steve Tshwete, Tony Yengeni, Joe Modise & Co. The only way PAC
man can get past them is by eating special Mercedes 4x4s for extra 'vooma'.
"As soon as I get to a computer I'm going to
download the game and have some fun." says De Lille, "I want to send
the game to a couple of my friends in parliament and see if they can match
me."
If she is successful in her mission, PAC MAN will
uncover the real Heath Organogram.
"If only real life politics were as simple
as swallowing pills and eating up Tony Yengeni and Co." explains De Lille.
"Technology is shaping the opinions of
people and running their lives," she says, "in the past this was never
possible."
"Games like PAC Man make issues more
accessible to a lot more people than before," explains De Lille,
"especially to those who don't like reading, but rather play a game."
"What I don't understand though, is why it's
called PAC Man and not PAC Woman." says De Lille.
