The Pan Africanist Congress (PAC) leadership is expected to announce the name of a senior African National Congress (ANC) MP allegedly involved in irregularities in the controversial R43-billion arms procurement deal in a few days' time. 

PAC MP Patricia de Lille said the official's alleged involvement in the arms scandal was uncovered by an investigative media-led team. The PAC will convene a media conference in Pretoria later today but is expected to name the official later in the week. 

At the end of the party's conference in Bloemfontein on Sunday, De Lille said the "nation will be shocked when we make the announcement".
