Auditor-General Shauket Fakie submitted the arms deal report to National Assembly Speaker Dr Frene Ginwala today.

It is likely the report will be tabled tomorrow, a parliamentary official has said. Dr Gavin Woods (IFP), the chairperson of Parliament's standing committee on public accounts (Scopa) said earlier this week that there is still a degree of uncertainty about when his committee will sit to deal with the report.

The National Assembly's trade and industry, finance, defence and ethics committees are also expected to look into issues in the report.

The auditor-general is leading the forensic side of the probe into the controversial multi-billion rand deal. The Public Protector and the National Directorate of Public Prosecutions have also been investigating.
