Hassan
Solomons, also known as Bheki Jacobs, the man believed to have authored some of
the key documents alleging corruption in the multi-billion rand arms deal, is
under investigation for allegedly obtaining a fraudulent identity document.
The Star understands that Solomons is in possession of two identity documents.
Using the name Hassan Osman, Solomons applied for an identity document on
December 22, 1994. He gave his place of birth as Pietermaritzburg.
Applying under a different name, Uranim Vladimir Dzerzhinsky Joseph Solomon, he
stated his place of birth as Cape Town.
A government source said Solomons might prove to be a difficult case to handle:
"If the police were to move on him and effect his arrest, some observers
might argue that the government had mobilised its resources to silence Solomon.
