With reference to your column The thick end of the wedge: An editor's notebook (November 26) in which way is the Shaik family good for SA? Their connections to the arms industry and Mo Shaik's promotion to ambassadorial post, I suspect, is a reward for precisely these connections.
Stop pulling the wool over the eyes of the public, Mr Editor, simply because you are moved by the plight of the Shaiks. There are too many struggle families in this country that are corrupt to the core and it is not your job to give them respectability.
Yesterday, TV show People of the South did exactly that by trying to sanitise Alan Boesak by flaunting his role in the struggle.
There are many people who had greatness thrust upon them by apartheid. Many of us were in the struggle for the love of democracy. Others were in it because of their overwhelming love of themselves.
