This is because in its attempted merger, as other Gobodo divisions have decided to form a separate company under a new business name.

The world's largest professional services firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), the world's largest professional services firm could end up with only the audit division of black accounting firm Gobodo Incorporated's audit division when the two complete their merger next year.

This is because in its attempted merger, as other Gobodo divisions have decided to form a separate company under a new business name.

PwC announced its merger with the black auditing and professional services firm last month under the new name of PwC Gobodo, but it was reported noted that other divisions of Gobodo, the information technology (IT), corporate governance and forensic units of Gobodo were not keen on the merger. still unimpressed with the move.

Gobodo's IT information technology MD Matome Ralebipi said on Friday that the three divisions opposed to the merger would go it alone.

"It is the principle of the merger that is questionable," he said.

Gobodo's corporate finance division went it alone this year under the name AloeCap.

In a statement released last week, PwC said last week the merger was still on track and reaffirmed its backing from both Gobodo and PwC staff and partners.

The PwC deal comes after Thabo Mosololi resigned as Gobodo CEO to pursue private interests. It is understood that among the reasons for his departure was his opposition to the merger, believing it would dilute the firm's vision, mission and open it up for possible job losses.

It is believed that Gobodo's new CEO, Mveleli Booi, who heads up the audit division, went ahead with the merger talks despite knowing having known of the concerns of other divisions.

The three divisions of information technology, corporate governance and Forensic bring in 76% of the company's profit, while the audit division brings in only 24%. brought by the audit division.

Ralebipi said that if Gobodo went ahead with the merger it would lose its lucrative account with transport parastatal Transnet.

Gobodo generates through its membership of the Abasa Practitioners Forum. Gobodo's about 40% of its income was generated from Transnet.
