Cape Town - The Democratic Alliance (DA) has referred reports that Defence Minister Mosiuoa Lekota failed to declare business interests to Parliament's ethics committee for action, and called for him to resign or be dismissed.
Similar DA complaints saw the registrar of members interests and the ethics committee launch investigations into former African National Congress (ANC) Women's League president Winnie Madikizela-Mandela and former ANC chief whip Tony Yengeni.
The DA complaint to the registrar and the ethics committee follows reports that Lekota has interests in a winery that supplies wine to the Free State government and in a fuel supplier that has tried to get contracts with parastatal Transnet.
