The kwaZulu-Natal director of public prosecutions has ordered that the Public Protector, Selby Baqwa, face a charge of assault following an incident in Durban last month in which Baqwa allegedly slapped a woman.
The summons was issued on Tuesday after a complaint of common assault was made against Baqwa by Dolly Mkhulisi, who claimed he assaulted her in a hotel room where the two had been staying.
