I am rather intrigued by the affair surrounding Deputy President Jacob Zuma, not least the comments from the ANC's official spokesman, Smuts Ngonyama.
I would really like him to explain publicly his definition of democracy in relation to his comment that Bulelani Ngcuka's decision not to prosecute the deputy president was "a victory for democracy".
Ngonyama's concluding statement that "prima facie evidence found by the Scorpions would not taint Zuma's political career or public image" was somewhat visionary. I shall remind him of it after the results of the coming elections are announced.
