President Mbeki is considering the relocation of command of the Scorpions from the National Prosecuting Authority to the police commissioner.

All interests will be best served by having the director of national prosecutions report directly to the deputy president.

As a direct result of this, Scorpions spokesperson and the deputy president's spokesperson posts can be combined. This will improve the communication between them and save about R500 000 annually.
