With regard to "gifts" made to members of Parliament, whether or not they declared them in parliamentary records should not be our main concern. How can they justify the gifts in the first place? It is impossible to see any substantial gift as anything other than a bribe. We need to set standards from the top down. Those who received "gifts" should resign.
Have the "gifts" been declared to the receiver of revenue? Are they taxable and should not the Scorpions consider an Al Capone-type of investigation?
