Your interesting article on Zuma gives the impression that "the mass of public opinion" backs him. But the Markinor survey you quote reports that "more than one in three South Africans support Zuma".

This is high, but it is not the majority; and support might be diminished by evidence at the trial. The issue might be further elucidated by monitoring how the survey responses correlated with the income, education and ethnic status of respondents and by tracking the impact of the trial on the public opinion.
