Deputy President Jacob Zuma became R15 000 richer through nothing more mundane than a bank error.

Forensic auditor Johan van der Walt yesterday told the Durban High Court that in September 2000, Zuma was paid R15 000 by one of Schabir Shaik's companies, Kobifin - but the cheque bounced.

Only the bank forgot to reverse the transaction in Zuma's bank account, making Kobifin none the poorer and Zuma that much richer.
