At the trial of Schabir Shaik, witness Themba Sono used the term “nominal” director when describing his activities at Shaik’s company. Grapevine understands him to mean that he merely attended meetings without necessarily being involved in the company.

Grapevine is thankful that he finally put a name to what could be applied to many of SA’s serial board members.
