The Schabir Shaik fraud and corruption trial is taking its toll on the local business tycoon. The Durban High Court adjourned yesterday when, armed with a sick note, the defence team pleaded Shaik was suffering from chest pains, high blood pressure and breathing problems. After responding to frantic signals from his client, defence attorney Francois van Zyl informed Judge Hilary Squires at the lunch break that Shaik was ailing.
