Only three questions should be asked in regards to the succession :

• What are South Africa's needs for the 10 years after Thabo Mbeki's term ends?

• What skills should the new leader possess to achieve the required results?

• Who is that person?

It should be about country, not personality. It should not be about deals; which position you will get in my government if you support me.

It should not be about politics, power or ego - which is what it seems it will turn out to be.
