Sentencing proceedings will continue in the Schabir Shaik fraud and corruption trial in the Durban High Court today.
Judge Hillary Squires last week found Shaik guilty of two charges of corruption and one of fraud.
The court found that he and Deputy President Jacob Zuma had a "generally corrupt" relationship.
All the charges were linked to this relationship with Zuma.
On Friday the prosecution called a senior researcher from the Institute of Security Studies to testify about the extent and effects of corruption in society, in aggravation of sentence.
It is expected that Shaik's advocate Francois van Zyl may call a witness in mitigation of sentence.
