Durban - Former deputy president Jacob Zuma's attorney, Mike Hulley, wouldn't lodge an application in the Durban High Court on Wednesday for the return of documents seized during recent raids by the Scorpions, according to his secretary.
On Monday, Hulley said the application would probably be lodged with the registrar of the court on Wednesday and would then be forwarded to the KwaZulu-Natal Public Prosecutions Director.
However, just hours before this was due to happen his secretary said Hulley was in court in connection with another matter and they were "still getting together the documents and the application won't happen this week ... probably only next week".
This is about the fourth time that Hulley has postponed plans to lodge the application.
On Monday Hulley said the application, which was also scheduled to have been lodged last week, had not gone ahead due to "logistical problems".
Hulley said the application would ask for "the return of the items which were seized from Mr Zuma's three residences, one in KwaZulu-Natal and two in Gauteng".
Hulley said he would also ask for the return of documents seized from his own office in Durban.
Zuma, who has been charged with corruption following the conviction and sentencing of his former financial adviser Schabir Shaik on charges of fraud and corruption, is scheduled to appear in the Durban magistrate's court on October 11.
On Monday Hulley said the items they wanted back "would not affect the appearance on October 11 per se," but it was important for their case overall.
