Durban - This is how Zuma was coddled:
According to exhibits in the Schabir Shaik trial and the KPMG report compiled in that regard, Jurgen Kögl, Nora Fakude-Nkuna and Shaik contributed to Jacob Zuma's lifestyle.
Jurgen Kögl
June 17 1999: Investec Securities pays R50 000 on instructions of Kögl from his private account for Zuma's bond on his luxury flat in Killarney, Johannesburg.
April 4 2000: Kögl's Cay Nominees pays R50 000 to Permanent Bank for Zuma's flat in Berea, Johannesburg.
August 15 2001: Cay Nominees pays R183 000 to Mercedes Benz for Zuma's outstanding debt on his Mercedes Benz 230E.
August 23 2001: Cay Nominees pays R600 000 to Standard Bank for Zuma's bond on his Killarney flat.
October 15 2001: Cay Nominees pays a further R6 000 to Standard Bank for the same bond.
Nora Fakude-Nkuna
August 14 2000: Bohlabela Wheels (Middelburg) pays R90 000 to Eric Malengret, who built Zuma's traditional home at Nkandla, Kwazulu-Natal.
August 14 2000: "Fakude PZN" pays R10 000 to Malengret. (Fakude-Nkuna's first names are Patricia Nora Zenani).
October 14 2000: Bohlabela Wheels pays a further R40 000 to Malengret. Schabir Shaik.
Judge Hilary Squires found that Shaik made payments to the value of R1 2m between 1996 and 2001 to or on behalf of Zuma to "buy" his influence.
Among others this money went for Zuma's home bond payments, motor car instalments, his children's school fees and private flights to ANC meetings.
