In a public display of support for embattled Deputy President Jacob Zuma, African National Congress MPs burst into song as he entered the National Assembly on Wednesday.

"We will follow our Zuma," the MPs sang as they danced around their benches.

Zuma arrived in the House for his regular question and answer session moments after Durban businessman Schabir Shaik was sentenced to 15 years in jail, in effect, by the Durban High Court on two charges of corruption and one of fraud.

When convicting Shaik last week, Judge Hilary Squires found that the relationship between Zuma and Shaik was "generally corrupt".
