Gauteng concession company Bombela has not allocated any work on the Gautrain Project to companies linked to Schabir Shaik, according to a statement issued on behalf of the Project yesterday.

The statement said Nkobi Holdings and Kobitech Transport Systems were among the companies listed on the Gautrain prospective supplier database.

"These companies are allegedly linked to Schabir Shaik," said the statement.

Ten of Shaik’s companies were involved in his trial which related to his dealings with ex-Deputy President Jacob Zuma.

Shaik was found guilty on all the main charges and was given 15 years each on two corruption convictions and three on a conviction for fraud.

Five Supreme Court of Appeal judges who subsequently heard Shaik’s appeal were working non-stop on the judgment, a court spokesman said earlier this month.

"The judges are very busy finalising the judgment," Henry Snyman said.
