Scorpions Search Warrants Lawful : High Court

The Pretoria High Court has dismissed an application to declare unlawful search warrants issued last year to search the premises of French arms dealer Thint.

Judge Ben du Plessis found the warrants were lawful, SABC radio news reported on Tuesday.

He also ruled that the authorities did not go overboard during the raids.

Du Plessis ordered that the objects and documents seized taken from Thint's offices and those taken from managing director Pierre Moynot should be lodged with the court registrar for safekeeping.

They were seized last August as part of the Scorpions' investigation into fraud and corruption charges against former deputy president Jacob Zuma and Thint.
