It was clear *1 that the National Prosecuting Authority had no case against Jacob Zuma, Congress of South African Trade Unions general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi said on Monday.

Vavi told thousands of Zuma supporters outside the Pietermaritzburg High Court, where Zuma and Thint face corruption charges: "There are other forces behind the charges brought against him. They are looking for evidence where there is none. *2

"There should be other people responsible for the corruption in the arms deal. To hide them we are chasing the wrong animal, a new investigation has to establish who is responsible." *3

Vavi said they should let Zuma go to his Nkandla home.

*1       Is it clear?

*2      What about the 250 plus page KPMG report and 93 000 pages of documentary evidence? What what an emphatic conviction for a co-conspirator on almost identical proven facts?

*3      Ad idem.
