These days I read the Sunday Times with morbid fascination.

We are soon to become just another corrupt and failed African nation.

The Schabir and Chippy show is truly sickening.

Then there is the Zulu “king” who spends R36-million of taxpayers’ money on himself while his rural “subjects” live in poverty. The boss of the National Empowerment Fund, who is an overpaid civil servant, uses his position to allegedly make a secret private R1-million for doing his job. Nothing happens .

Ex-boss of Telkom Papi Molotsane gets R5.6-million of taxpayers’ money in six months for doing nothing. Does he feel ashamed? No way. His only concern is the size of his severance pay. Clearly, hard work, honour and shame have been replaced by greed. In Japan corrupt officials resign or commit suicide. In China they get shot. In SA they grow rich.
