DURBAN: The National Prosecuting Authority will know tomorrow whether it has an execution order to retrieve documents about meetings believed to relate to arms deal corruption from Mauritius.
Justice Jan Hugo heard argument last week from the state, ANC deputy president Jacob Zuma and French arms manufacturing giant Thint last week. A letter of authorisation was granted earlier in the year by Justice Philip Levensohn, which Thint and Zuma were appealing in the Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein.
The NPA wants a diary, allegedly with an entry showing a meeting to iron out details of an alleged R500 000- a-year bribe for Zuma.
Legal teams for Zuma and Thint argued that the execution order would not be "just and equitable". - Sapa
