PROFESSOR Thomashausen (The Citizen, May 6) maintains that Deputy President Zuma, if charged over the Shaik affair, could argue that he was liaising with his constituents. Could Prof Thomashausen please tell me who Zuma’s constituents are?

In the South African Parliament we have no MPs directly voted for in a constituency, but only faceless toadies put forward by their respective parties. Perhaps Prof Thomashausen can advise me as to whom the MP for the Benoni district is?

Can he also advise us what constituencies the other MPs are responsible to?
