Speaking on SAfm live, Elzilda Becker, publisher of the Afrikaans magazine Dekat, said Jacob Zuma had been invited to the braai with a group of Afrikaners because he was a presidential candidate.

Zuma did not oppose or object to this view.

Becker said she was still going to organise meetings with other ANC presidential candidates.

The ANC has yet to nominate candidates for the presidency. This will only be done in 2009.

I wonder why Zuma is now interested in the Afrikaner community. I am convinced his visit was never discussed with the ANC. But I do know that the coffers of the Friends of Jacob Zuma Trust are now empty. The trust failed to pay artists who performed at the fundraising concert, which only 500 people attended.

Premier Sibusiso Ndebele was made the scapegoat for the poor turnout. What a lie!

Perhaps Zuma is trying to portray himself as a more caring and accessible leader.

It must be remembered that when Thabo Mbeki was attending the fiftieth anniversary celebrations of Ghanaian independence, Zuma was visiting the victims of crime, an Afrikaner family.

Has Zuma changed or is he masking his real self? Time will tell.

He once made a lunatic statement about gays, in breach of the constitution.

Before that, he had unprotected sex with an HIV-positive woman his own daughter's age. He then said showering after sex could protect him from HIV.

If Zuma is innocent, why is he trying to prevent the state from obtaining Alain Thetard's diary from Mauritius?

In parliament Zuma denied having met Thetard, but Schabir Shaik admitted in court that a meeting had taken place.

Zuma is not presidential material. There is nothing positive our young people can learn from his singing Umshini Wami. He is not a visionary leader who understands the economy, global politics and administration.
