Speaking to the BBC recently, Public Enterprises Minister Alec Erwin said he believed that the ANC deputy president Jacob Zuma will have “great difficulty” in becoming the next president of the ANC and, by implication, the country’s leader when President Mbeki goes away.

Erwin added that it was Zumampara’s record that led him to form this opinion.

It was, funnily enough, the same record that led an overwhelming number of readers of a rival newspaper group to come to the same conclusion ­ that is, lack of moral values and personal lifestyle.

This, basically, is why the fool wants to sue this newspaper for R6-million.

Because we told him he was unfit for office. We believed that then. We still do. He doesn’t like that. But so what?
