Prosecution Boss Awaits Sentence on String of Charges

A deputy director of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions will know his fate in two months, when he will be sentenced.

Cornwell Tshavhungwa was found guilty in Pretoria Magistrates' Court of perjury, drunken driving and two fraud charges.

Tshavhungwa was convicted of defrauding Nedbank when he applied for a home loan of R1.2 million by pretending that his monthly income was R44 513, which was not true.

An asset forfeiture hearing will be held on September 5.
