State-owned weapons firms Armscor and Denel would be reorganised to make them more efficient, defence minister Mosiuoa Lekota said yesterday.

Armscor "is being streamlined as an acquisition division. The research agencies of Denel and Armscor will reside in a new body called the Defence Evaluation and Research Institute," Lekota said.
