The recent firing of Vusi Pikoli, the head of the National Prosecuting
Authority, by President Thabo Mbeki was a move to eliminate Jacob Zuma from the
race for the presidency.
It came soon after Cosatu announced its choice for the ANC leadership. Quite
obviously Pikoli refused to play ball in order to speed up and/or to manipulate
the Zuma case.
He had to go to make room for a stooge.
