The SAS Queen Modjadji, the final boat in a series of three 209/1400mod class
submarines built for the South African Navy in Kiel and Emden, Germany, is
pictured leaving Kiel for her maiden voyage to South Africa.
After a stopover in Rota, Spain, the submarine is expected to arrive at the
Simon's Town naval base on May 22.
During the voyage, the SAS Queen Modjadji will be accompanied by the South
African research vessel Protea.
