Johannesburg - Retired Lieutenant General Maomela Motau has been appointed
the new chairperson of Armscor, the Defence Department said on Thursday.
He had “vast military and defence expertise” which would benefit the Armaments
Corporation of South Africa in its re-organisation, spokesperson Siphiwe Dlamini
said in a statement.
Motau headed Umkhonto we Sizwe's military strategy group and was responsible for
negotiations in Kempton Park which drafted the defence chapter of the 1993
transitional Constitution.
He was chief of defence intelligence until April 2009, when he unexpectedly
resigned.

Aw, Aw - here comes trouble -
Mojo at the helm.
But look at when the article get published, 11:50 pm on the night before Good
Friday.
Clearly designed to limit a press frenzy of comment.
Now we await the announcement who is to fill Sipho Thomo's CEO position after
the former vroeteled with his lady staffs' buttocks and otherwise
single-handedly foxtrot uniformed a great organisation in a matter of a couple
of years (or was that months?), effectively killing the indigenous South African
Defence Industry at the same time, all to give the Bumiputerians.free access to
our taxpayer-funded defence spend.
Are we going to get a high-tech MK or BEE stalwart, or better still a lady
version with heaps more experience in modern high-tech weapon systems than
conjuring up a sadza and gravy on the potjie?
