Former prosecutions chief Mokotedi Mpshe resigned from the civil service
only 48 hours ago following an outcry over his appointment as acting judge.
Mpshe was "seconded" from the National Prosecuting Authority to act as a judge
on the North West bench from the beginning of this month and this was criticised
by the legal fraternity.
His resignation was confirmed by Justice Minister Jeff Radebe at a press
conference in Cape Town on Thursday.

It seems that even Mokotedi doesn't want
to work for Menzi.
Or is it because he does want to be First Respondent in the not so unweighty
matter coming up in the North Gauteng High Court on 7, 8 and 9 June 2010 in Case
No. 19577/09.
Or would he prefer to be a full-time judge with judge's salary and benefits for
the rest of his life?
But for sure, he previous conviction, allegations against him and conduct make
him unfit to be a senior counsel, let alone a judge.
But he did his job well and he has got rewarded and honoured at the same time by
his ever grateful principals.
Maybe he'll also become a Grand Knight of the Order of Good Hope (or Order of
the Polecat or whatever it now is), just like his mate Leonard Richard McCarthy.
