2nd time chairman's head rolled; Minister apparently had enough

The chairman of Armscor's board this week for the second time was fired.

Lieutenant General. Mojo Motau and his deputy Refiloe Mokoena's services are both terminated by the new defense minister.

The announcement will today officially be done at a board meeting in Pretoria, Beeld supreme learned.

Armscor yesterday indicated he would issue a statement on the matter today, while Helmoed-Römer Heitman, military expert, said Armscor had been a long time "dysfunctional".

"Relations between Armscor, the military and the arms industry has increasingly deteriorated," he said.

Motau, formerly chief of defense information, then under a cloud, and away at short notice by the department.

Lindiwe Sisulu, a former defense minister, then took him in 2011 in the position at Armscor.

In 2012, shortly after Sisulu redeployed to public service and administration, she Motau relieved of his duties and Mokoena, who has served on the board appointed.

Motau refused to leave his post, which made Armscor for a long time with two sitting chairs.

Apparently, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, current defense minister, decided to give him another chance.

Her patience apparently the last time in the light of a series of contentious issues within the corporation ran out and now he and his deputy was fired, Statue of dignitaries in the department learned.

Many of the most experienced officials at Armscor is due to "disciplinary" reasons Motau suspended. This mainly because of their criticism of Strategy 21, his plan to Armscor restored to its former glory.

The plan was aimed at bringing about more representation in the arms industry. However, in many cases where critically needed support contracts with European arms companies closed down, led the contracts simple.

This has in turn led to delays of months - especially since Motau board only every three months.

Under these contracts count the versieningskontrak for the police helicopters and the Air Force support contract for its aircraft.

Tenders for the military's essential vervangingskontrakte, including those for his new armored personnel carriers, drag also because no the necessary timely decisions.

Under the strategy Motau had wanted the army pay 10% commission for Armscor services.

Which brought him into conflict with the generals, his insistence that he say in the army's strategic planning wanted.

Several of the disciplinary cases is still pending, while the suspended senior officials pending vertroulikheidsklousules reappointed.*1

*1       One of them, Pierre Meiring, was fired nearly a year ago after nearly 30 years of sterling and faultless service.

In a kangaroo court of injustice that cost the taxpayer several millions of Rands to stage manage.

He should be re-instated at a snot spoed and/or receive very substantial compensation for this injustice and his humiliation.

Other than that, Mojo was trying to transform Armscor where he and his buddies, probably some in Chancellor House, effectively reap 35% of every contract Armscor manages.

This in the name of transformation.

The only transformation with which he and his fellow deployees in the MoD, DoD, SANDF, SA Army, SA Air Force, SA Navy, Denel, SA Airways, SABC, SITA, Ek's Dom, Telkom, inter alia have been wildly successful is transforming South Africa from a first world country to a third world one.

The only state department that is truly effective is SA Revenue Services which is very adept at wringing every last cent out of the taxpayer and placing it with easy access to be raped by Zoomer and his deployees.

Economic freedom fighters deluxe.

So gaan die lewe.
