Economic Freedom Fighters demand the immediate release of the so called Spy Tapes, which President Jacob Zuma is hiding in order to run away from the rule of law. The National Prosecuting Authority should not be allowed to defy the Supreme Court of Appeal Decision that issues an instruction for the Tapes to be handed over. EFF makes this demand not because we agree with the politics of the Democratic Alliance, which we will never politically affirm, but because one of EFF's 7 non-negotiable cardinal pillars for economic freedom is 'Open, transparent, accountable, and corrupt free government'.

The incumbent President cannot be allowed to defy the rule of Law, and delay the appointment of the National Director of Public Prosecutions simply because there is a 99% possibility that a competent Court of Law will find him guilty of more than 700 charges of corruption, fraud and money laundering. As the people of South Africa, willing to protect our integrity and the rule of Law, we should reject individuals who use political offices and power to evade prosecution.

Immediately after the National Assembly on What is to be Done, which happens in Soweto on the 26th and 27th of July 2013, the EFF will announce elaborate plans and programme to fight corruption and abuse of State agencies by the political incumbents. We will never allow South Africa to degenerate into a banana republic with no measures to hold political office bearers accountable. Our core values and principle is that individuals and private citizens should be ready to be accountable whenever allegations of corruption are brought against them, and not use institutions and processes to frustrate the rule of law.

We demand that the Tapes should be released, and the decision not to prosecute Mr. Jacob Zuma rescinded, the corruption trial resumes, and the Courts decides on the GUILTY or not guilty verdict so that South Africa can know whether Mr. Zuma is CORRUPT, FRAUDSTER and MONEY LAUNDERER or not. This must be done because it is also in the best interest of the integrity of our public offices and that of the rule of law.
